I’ve been an animal lover my whole life. As a kid we had dogs. Never cats. I was deathly allergic to cats so it wasn’t even an option.
Later on, when I was 19 I had a gal roomate. She wanted cats. So i told her she could get a couple and I’d see how it went. Turned out it didn’t bother me at all. I must have outgrown my asthma. Great!
From that time on i had cats. Always.I’ve also ALWAYS been in a relationship with a woman. Married, or just committed and living together I always managed to get cats :). I broke off a long relationship in August last year. Around the same time I managed to get a contract (i’m an independant consultant in the IT industry) with Intel for a year. Since it was long enough I decided instead of traveling there I’d just move there.
Not long after getting my condo I decided to get cats. I always want two. So they don’t get lonely and bored when I’m gone. I waS approached rather quickly by a lady that was caring for a litter of kittens. The mom died and she couldn’t handle the workload. Wow what timing! So I agreed to take two. A girl and a boy. They were only 2 weeks old when I got them so I had to bottle feed them, stimulate them to to the bathroom and basically raise them by hand.
Now that they’re on crusie control I decided I should do something to give back to the community. For the first time in 19 years I’m single and living alone. I simply LOVE it. I’ve got a full bedroom (actually it’s the master bedroom, long story) and a full bath. Oh and a walk in closet, all empty. I figured it’d be great to house a foster cat that’s pregnant or a litter of kittens in need.
Tomorrow I will be getting my foster mom-to-be. Here’s the explanation of the cat as described to me by the foster care group (Desert Paws Rescure Group)
I will be dropping her off as I am going to Mesa tomorrow anyway.
Madonna is a very sweet little girl. She’s a gray and silver tabby, short
haired. Right now her tummy is bigger than she is. She wandered into an
office at an industrial park near 20th avenue and Grand in Phoenix. We
really don’t know anything else about her. The gal who let her into the
office called her vet who happened to be my vet and they gave her my number.She’s very sweet, very vocal, likes attention, is comfortable in a room,
hates carriers and hates cages. She has not been vaccinated because she is
pregnant. She tested negative for leukemia and FIV. Hope you have lots of
time to give her attention and rub her belly, which she apreciates.So tomorrow is the day. I’m excited! I’ll take pictures and try to post frequent updates.
