The Kittens
Meet the kittens!
(you’re welcome to leave comments at the bottom of this page. You can also ask specific questions about any of the kittens and I’ll answer for you. About physical questions, behavior, etc. No problem)
We have four girls and three boys. All eager for a permanent home! Here they all are together

Note: Each kitten has a light under their name. This light indicates the adoption status of that kitten. There are three possible statuses: The lights for each kitten are actually links. Click one and it will take you to the form to let Desert Paws know you’re interested in adopting. Make sure you note the kitten’s name!

The Family
Name: Madonna
Sex: Female

Hi, I’m Madonna, the cat responsible for all these sweet kittens. I’m VERY affectionate. I’ve had a pretty rough life so I’m not exactly like a normal house cat. I’ve been outside fending for myself. But I really just want a place where I can get some lap time with someone that doesn’t mind lots of tummy rubs.

I purr like you wouldn’t believe, and I always greet my owner with a meow. I talk a lot too

Name: Jackie
Sex: Male

This is Jackie. Named by recommendation by a man that posts on a forum I visit he is a tuxedo male with a white stripe going all the way from his nose to his bottom underneath. he’s also got a stripe off center going up his forehead. he’s VERY sweet and playful. Also, if you click on this picture, then click on ‘all sizes’ and look at either the large or original version of this pic. You’ll notice his eyes seem to be turning green. All kittens are born with blue eyes, so maybe his are coming in permanent now?

Full Size (Huge)Name: Danica
Sex: Female
On October 15th Anthony and Ashley were approved to adopt me!Meet Danica. She is a darkening pointed kitten. Her name came from a recommendation from a person that posts at another forum I visit. She’s got a white tipped tail (the only one like this) and is very playful. She’s a happy kitten and she runs to the gate whenever I come in to play with or feed them.

Full Size (Huge)Name: Susan
Sex: Female

On October 15th Anthony and Ashley were approved to adopt me!
Say hi to Susan! Named after a very helpful lady across the pond that has been a great help to me. Susan is a cat lover and just goes nuts when I post pictures of these kittens.

Full Size (Huge)Name: Jimmy
Sex: Male
On October 24th Jeff Ward was approved to adopt me!
Jimmy: He’s very shy but loving. It just takes him a minute to trust you. but once he does, he just cuddles right up!

Full Size (Huge)Name: Lucky
Sex:Male

On October 24th Jeff Ward was approved to adopt me!
Lucky: the most clear markings of all the kittens this is going to be a gorgeous cat. I don’t know for sure if I can let him go just yet

Full Size (Huge)Name: Aby
Sex: Female

This is Aby. Named after a cat that belongs to a person that posts on a forum I visit Abymummy was a tremendous help during the labor. I had never been around a cat birth before so I was a wreck, but with her help It wen’t great!
Aby is BY FAR the most adventurous of all the litter. She’s tiny, but unbelievably ambitious. Of all seven kittens she’s the only one that figured out how to climb out of the box, and she did it seven times.

Full Size (Huge)Name: Johnny
Sex: Male

Last but not least, we have Johnny. He’s extremely loving and likes to just cuddle with you. When I visit their pen, he comes up and lays on my leg. Just peaceful and happy. He’s the tie for the biggest of all the cats. Very cute

Thanks for taking the time to post these details. I really appreciate it.

No problem Anthony! Anything I can do to make this easier for potential adopters is just fine with me.
-
I may be interested in Susan and Johnny. They will be spayed/neutered and have their shots before adoption, correct? Is there a discount on price if they are adopted as pairs?
Thanks,
TerriP.S. Your website is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Terri! Thanks for the compliment.
Susan and Johnny. Wow what a coincidence. My older sister is Susan and my nickname growing up was Johnny :). I didn’t name the cats after those names but it was eerily familiar seeing ‘Susan and Johnny’
Unfortunately I have nothing to do with the actual adoption. You can contact Mandy who is managing that part at the rescue group. The email address I have is cats@desertpawsrescue.org
If you don’t get any response let me know and I’ll follow up. But I’m sure she’ll respond.

Oh, I should tell you this though. They will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to adoption. I know they do that much.

Hi,
I might be interested in Jackie, Danica or Lucy.
I love black cats so Jackie would be my first pick for sure!
They’re just precious!I wasnt sure if they were still available?
Is there a price for them or free?
Also do you know if declawing comes with or no?Thank you so much!
-
You’d need to contact the rescue group for any fees. I know they have a nominal fee which weeds out most people just getting kittens on a whim, but I think it’s only to cover the cost of the spay/neuter vaccination, etc.
All are available at this point. none have been confirmed approved.
one thing I’d like you to do though is research de-clawing cats. It’s an amputation, not just cutting the claws off. It’s extremely painful for the cats and unless it’s absolutely necessary for safety i highly recommend you don’t even consider it.
Please read this: http://www.petstation.com/declaw.html
I’ll ask Mandy if there are any confirmed adopters yet but I don’t think there are any concrete decisions yet.

All of the kittens that will be put up for adoption will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated to age with the FVRCP vaccine, tested for feline leukemia/FIV (which the mom has already been tested so the kittens won’t actually be tested, and she was negative), microchipped, and come with 30 days of pet insurance.
The adoption fee for 1 kitten is $100, and the adoption fee for 2 kittens is $150.
The kittens will be available after they are 9 weeks old.
If you are interested in adopting, you will need to fill out this consult form. You can find it here.

Thanks for the post Mandy! I knew there was more being done, i just didn’t remember what it all was.

Hello…I would be interested in adopting Jimmy or Aby.
Thank you.

Hi Rhonda, Thanks for visiting!
Mandy is the lady you’ll want to chat with, but as posted above, your next step to get the process going would be to fill out the adoption form. Then of course you’ll want to come by to see the kittens. You can schedule that through Mandy as well.
