  Couple Website Items

  First off, I really appreciate all the activity I’ve gotten on this blog. I’ve had numerous contacts and you can see a handful of comments coming in too! It means a lot to me that there are people that are interested in reading up on the kittens.

  OK, I put a new block on the right side. It’s a login/register block. If you’re a regular browser here I’d appreciate it if you’d register. Of course there aren’t any huge benefits, but it’s nice just the same. Plus when I make any major changes or additions I can alert you. Don’t worry, no spam.

  Second. I’m about half way through this foster session. I’m going to pick up the pace and begin working the adoptions on Sunday’s as well to assist the rescue group a little more. Beyond that, when these kittens all go and Madonna is adopted, I will begin a new group. Hopefully with a pregnant mom or kittens. But regardless, I’ll archive this group and begin a new one. You’ll always be able to go back and view this group, but I’ll put it in archive format. I’ll do this continually, so with each foster group/cat I will have a new site theme and pics.

  Website Errors

  Thanks to Mark at Expression Engine I was made aware that there was a problem with the site. When trying to access any individual post you’d get a blank page. So nobody could leave comments!!! Well that stinks!

  I’ve resolved the issue and it’s working correctly now.

  I’ve had my home Internet down for two days now so there’s no updates yet. I’m being assured it’ll be resolved today so i should be able to get a good update today. got some interesting follow up with the pointed kittens.

  I’m on my laptop now using my cellular broadband for internet access. Man it’s worth paying the 50 bucks per month just for cases like this when my home stuff goes down.

  Site Move Today

  I’m moving the site to a different domain today. I’m using Plesk on this webserver and because of the permissions etc instead of simply making an alias to the domain, I’ve set it up as it’s own site. This also means I will have to move all the files over, change db names, and perms then place a redirect here. This isn’t a problem.

  Later today you’ll see a redirect here, and the new domain will go live. No loss of data is expected but the site might look goofy for a bit.

  Website Changes

  I’m going to be making a big change here. I’ve been using Expression Engine for about 4 years now. It’s on some of my popular sites and frankly it’s the best CMS i’ve ever used. It probably helps that I have a really good working knowledge of it, but whatever the case, I decided it’s worth it to get a personal license and use it here.

  If your’e ever in the market, Expression Engine is the best way to go. They also have a core version that’s completely free. It just doesn’t have some of the advanced options, which most casual bloggers would never miss.
