Introduction

This site is dedicated to my experience as a foster care provider for a previously stray pregnant cat. She had her babies on September ninth and the babies are doing just fine. Most are already promised for adoption. You can check the status of the kittens here.

Kittens are coming!

At 4:00 am Madonna started labor. Currently it’s 7:30. She’s only had two kittens so far but i can feel at least two more inside her.

Update:
She’s done! I think. 5 babies. 2 pure white and the rest are mixed between pure black and grey/black just like mom.

I’m so proud of my little foster gal!

EDIT 2:
Make that 7 kittens. 4 white. exhausted, her and I both. Rest, need now

Madonna felt bad that she’s ignored you all weekend

So she had me take her picture. She’s figured out how to burrow under my bedspread and totally mess up the perfectly made bed. OK, maybe it wasn’t made, but still.

Change of Venue

The cat room isn’t working out. It’s too difficult and my cats are pissed that I raped them of their lair!

So i decided to change things around and put Madonna in the bedroom (wow how many people you think have said that line before?).

I created a birthing box for her before she came, so I’ve moved that into the room. I wonder what the chances are she’ll use the box, or give birth under my bed which would be by far the worst place for me to get to them. Murphy tells me it’s the bed for sure. Great!

That Sweet Face!

This cat sure can tug on the heart strings. She laid beside me (while I rubbed her belly of course) for 2 hours again today. She sure loves affection.
