Introduction

This site is dedicated to my experience as a foster care provider for a previously stray pregnant cat. She had her babies on September ninth and the babies are doing just fine. Most are already promised for adoption. You can check the status of the kittens here.

What? No news?

I had a problem today. It’s a logistics issue here at home.

I couldn’t get to my computer because there was severe blockage in my work area.

I think it’s OK now. I’ll have more tomorrow. Hopefully some great photos!

I just can’t imagine how hard it’s going to be to control this when they get bigger. I didn’t capture the chaos when it all started. Which is what I went in to film oh well. Still very cute.

Happy Two Week Birthday!

They’re all doing great. Most of them have their eyes open or opening. It’s interesting how much some have grown over the others.

I’ve suspected this for awhile, but the size and eye opening situation are pretty clear. This cat had sex twice in the same heat that produced these babies. The white ones are all much larger than the others, and they all opened their eyes days earlier than the others. Now that might not mean anything, but these cats are clearly not from the same pop. At least that’s my opinion.

Here’s a great picture of Lucky and his blue eyes (all kittens have blue eyes when born so it doesn’t really mean anything)

And here’s a picture of mom looking stoned. it is not possible to catch a good picture of this cat with a flash. she ALWAYS manages to close her eyes. I tried 9 times this time and they all were the same.

Weekend Update

Things are rolling right along. The kittens are starting to sprout and mom is getting tired of them! So it’s normal!

4 of the kittens have their eyes opening at some level. Only one are fully open. The others are getting there though. They look evil when they first open because they aren’t really developed and you can tell they can’t make much out.

Here’s a pic from a few minutes ago. Time to change the t-shirts again :). Look at the one at the top. lol he can’t be happy there.
