    Freedom! Well, sort of.

    Filed under: The Fosters;

    I decided the kittens just needed some breathing room.

    Yesterday I decided that it might be good to just block off the closet entrance itself. So I pulled the radiator and some other little things out that were on the floor. A few months ago I bought a small shelf i was going to use in my laundry room. But this seems like a better fit. Especially since, 5 months after buying it I still hadn’t put it up :)

  1. That’s a really good idea…I’m trying to figure out how to section off our bedroom for the kittens that I’m waiting for :) At least I have time to think, they’re still in the oven!

  2. lol. I remember getting excited when Madonna was preggo. I knew she was going to have a big litter because she’s tiny but looked like she swallowed a bowling ball.

    I think this will work good though. By the time they’re big enough to jump over (a couple weeks max) they’ll be big enough to get around anyway. I still close the bedroom door because I keep these guys separate from my rug rats. Though that might change. I don’t know yet. I really want them all to roam around freely.

    But yeah this idea just popped into my head yesterday when I was posting back and forth with Abymummy (Adilha) about this.

  3. Voila! Instant baby gate! :-)

  4. Excellent! Put a baby litter box beside the original birthing box (big enough for mom cat but lover sides, expect tracking) and at a convenient location further away, put the food and water. This way, babies can see mom cat do her thing and learn! :)

    BTW - the gate aint high enough.

    Also, please don’t do any intros until at the very least, one week after everyone’s first vaccination!

  5. Oh one more comment :) The whites are no longer white - they’re turning minky browny…looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer before giving them a color! LOL!

  6. I’m putting the litter box in there today. As well as some small dishes and I have some science diet kitten I’ll put in with it (dry).

    I know it’s not tall enough but it’ll do for now. I don’t want to meke it hard for mom to get in there either. so i’ts a give and take. The kittens sure seem happier being able to roam around a little.

    yeah they sure aren’t white. one if off,white but they are all looking more like brown sugar lol

  7. I’ve been watching your blog, love the kittens! I’m in contact with Desert Paws about adopting from this litter when they are old enough to go to a new home :) You’re taking great care of them! :)

    Hey thanks Ashley! I really appreciate that. I do spend some time trying to keep it interesting and looking nice. I don’t say it much but I’m always tinkering under the hood and making things a little more fun.
