White kittens get racing stripes!
Filed under: The Fosters;Even the first day they were born the four white kittens have been an interesting focus to anyone that sees their’ pictures. Of course the first day they were pure white, but even later that day it seemed like you could see some darkening on the ears. Just a touch. not even the fur, but the underlying skin was starting to change.
They’re definitely not going to be white kittens. There’s no arguing that. But I found it interesting that they’re becoming striped. but I don’t know what to think. Check out this picture. Notice the areas I highlighted. The arms are cross striped, the heads have racing stripes and the tails look like candy canes
Click here to see the unhighlighted, full size version This is the huge version and you can really see the markings well.
P.S. those t-shirts are not filthy in there even though they look like it. They’re just stained from the birth. I rotate out clean t-shirts every 2 days now.

Interesting, very interesting. They are becoming mitted tabbies of some sort (you can see little white gloves). I’m going to have to pull out my breed standards and go through the colors yet again. Wouldn’t color them at all for right now - I would wait until at least 8-12 weeks before even trying! In fact I think all your babies have mittens on them
Is there any white under their chins and are their bellies still white? I’m so proud of myself (speaking with complete lack of humility here) that I caught the fact that they weren’t white from the beginning!
Oh, about the t-shirts, get some enzymetic cleaners (something like Urine off), it’ll take the staining away!

Wow, Adilah. I do believe that you’re correct. mitts and socks. Whatever the genetics that created that fab foursome - the kits are gonna be knockouts!
