Our First Red Flag
Filed under: The Fosters;I’ve been watching the kitten’s eyes opening. it’s now been 19 days since birth. They should all be opened by now. But we’ve got one slow poke! His eyes aren’t quite there. It’s starting to concern me. I also posted this on a forum I frequent and got some advice I should start using warm water and cotton pads to gently try to open it over the next couple days. If it doesn’t work I’ve been told I should take him to the vet.
Poor guy!

Aww poor thing. I’m sure it will all sort itself out though soon.

Yeah I’m going to let it go and see how the kitten reacts. I bought some soft cotton discs (for women’s make-up remover) so I can soak them in warm water and hold over the eye (this procedure was recommended) several times a day.
He’s not in pain or uncomfortable at all. in fact he can see and manuever pretty well. Being brand new he doesn’t even know what he’s missing. But I don’t want to let this go too long to where it interrupts his vision development.
