    Weekend Update

    Filed under: The Fosters;

    Things are rolling right along. The kittens are starting to sprout and mom is getting tired of them! So it’s normal!

    4 of the kittens have their eyes opening at some level. Only one are fully open. The others are getting there though. They look evil when they first open because they aren’t really developed and you can tell they can’t make much out.

    Here’s a pic from a few minutes ago. Time to change the t-shirts again :). Look at the one at the top. lol he can’t be happy there.

  1. Well, it’s confirmed more or less…the ones that were originally white are turning into tonk like cats :) But, my favourite is the BTW that’s getting choked by the tuxie! :)

  2. Let me make sure I’m right. You think they’ll look like this? (Which is a good bet based on what their color changes are right now)

  3. well, what you have pictured is a platinum mink tonk. Your babies wont look like that exactly (of course) but you can use the color descriptions. Especially since you are sure that a couple of tails are striped. A true pointed cat should have white coats and be pointed only at the extremities and should only have darker body coats as they grow older.

    IMO it would be much easier to say “Color: Platinum mink tabby” instead of “Chocolate (or blue or blue lynx) pointed chocolate”…see what I mean? Any interested adopter would then google the worlds platinum mink. If you tried to google the alternative, you wouldn’t get very far because of the extra chocolate….LOL.

    I’m not all that great with colors that are not ruddy and red…tell you what, when the bubs hit say 6 weeks, take a pic and post it on breeders…you’ll have some interesting replies there! :)

  4. Do you think maybe it’s too soon to be “calling” the colors of the points? They are still soooo young! And won’t they cont. to darken?

    Either way, JT, you’re going to have some stunning kittens to rehome!

  5. Oh no, please don’t misunderstand - not coloring them at all - just using the colors for an example only. :)

    I wouldn’t dare color them until they were at least 8 weeks old!

  6. They are lovely. I just love how cute they are.
